Winnipeg Football Club donates Helmets to the falcons

For the 2nd year in a row, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers have donated helmets to our ametuer football program.  As everyone in football knows, helmets are the most important pieces of safety equipment for our players and one of the most costly investments in the sport for the program.

Each helmet, and depending on the age of the player and team, can cost between $300 and $700 initially.  Then, over the permitted life of the helmet (which is only 10 years) they must be recertifed every two years.  Recertification costs ~$100 at a time so, over the course of the life of a helmet that initial investment of $300 to $700 is actually $700 to $1,100.
